Pastor Douglas Bingham has been actively involved in the ministry since he was saved in 1973 at the age of 34. Shortly after a tragedy that left his youngest child, a two-year old son, in a coma for two years, a pastor quoted II Corinthians 5:10 to him, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." The reality of this truth led to a more concentrated study of the Bible. Consequently, it was impressed upon him that Jesus is the Son of God Who died for his sins. Philippians 2:20, "For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state," greatly impacted him.
He accepted Christ as his Savior in his car on the side of the road while on a business trip. While involved in a local church in Virginia, he was called into the ministry. He entered college when he was 36 to further prepare for the work of the ministry. After receiving his BA in Bible, he went on to Bob Jones University to earn his Masters of Divinity. He pastored several churches in South Carolina while in school. When he graduated from seminary, he felt led of the Lord to begin a work in his home state of Kentucky. He has faithfully served the Free Grace Bible Church, preaching the whole counsel of God's Word. He sees Galatians 6:14 as a verse that clearly shows all that has transpired in his life.
